I teach and supervise students on Development Economics and South/Southeast Asian Economics at University of Tsukuba. By training I am a development and agricultural economist and mostly use experimental approach in my researches. During 20 years’ research and teaching career with the Universities/think tanks, INGO (BRAC) and Government, I have gained a diverse perspective on international development and dedicated myself to test acceptability and adoptability of different technological and institutional innovations in low-income and emerging economies. My research projects got funding from ADB, ADBI, JSPS, 3ie, IGC, Gates Foundation, DFAT, etc. In recent years I published in The World Bank Economic Review, Journal of Development Economics, American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Technology in Society, Asian Journal of Innovation and Policy, Journal of Bangladesh Studies, etc. Due to professional reason, I am linked with a number of professional societies and have been nominated as one of the Executive Committee Members for Asian Society for Agricultural Economists since 2017.
